From the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board:
I am preparing to deliver my first budget, and it is a responsibility I take very seriously. I believe there has never been a more critical time to make the kind of decisions that will lead to a different future for our province.
As Budget 2016-2017 approaches, government wants to be able to invest in the things that matter most–quality health care, classrooms and ensuring our young people stay here. At the same time, we also must ensure we are positioned to address the challenges that threaten the sustainability of our services and the quality of life we enjoy.
I need your input and want to ensure all perspectives are represented. It is important that I hear what matters most to you and to all Nova Scotians.
Over the next few weeks, I am hosting a series of conversations. I would like to invite you to take part in a virtual Facebook discussion from the comfort of your home or office on Wednesday, February 10, at 6:00 pm and to add your ideas to the discussion. The link will be available at facebook.com/nsgov .
I also invite and encourage you to share your opinions and thoughts by sending in a submission via Facebook(facebook.com/nsgov), email (budget@novascotia), Twitter (@nsfinance), and mail (P.O. Box 187, Halifax, NS B3J 2N3) or by calling 1-844-358-7514. Please pass this message on to your network — colleagues, friends, family members, and neighbours.
For more information on the budget process and how you can participate, visit http://novascotia.ca/budget. The deadline for input is February 26.
Thank you in advance for participating and encouraging others to take part.
